Error: 'Windows cannot access\\PC1'. Error code is 0x8007005
I have a simple hardwired network of 2 PCs. Sharing is enabled on both. PC1 can see and access PC2 without problem. PC2 can see all folders on PC1 but PC2 cannot access PC1. Whenever I select any folder on PC1 I get 'Windows cannot access\\PC1'. Error code is 0x8007005. Both PCs are running XP Professional.I have tried other PCs via the wireless router but always get the same result. PC1 can always access the other PC, but not vice versa. Can anyone help? 1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi Lodrun, 0x8007005 error generally refers to “Access Denied” error message. - Have you turned on the File sharing feature for both the PC’s?- Which is the version of Operating system that is installed on both the computers (PC1 and PC2)? If no, enable the File Sharing Feature for PC 1 and check if it helps: Method 1: Follow the steps listed in the article below to do the same:How to use the Simple File Sharing feature to share files in Windows XP Method 2: If you have Windows XP Service Pack 3 installed on your computer, you may run the Fix it tool from the link given below. If you are using a different Service pack version of Windows XP, then follow the steps listed in the article below: You cannot access shared files and folders or browse computers in the workgroup with Windows XP Regards,Divya R – Microsoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
